Our History
1919
A group of brethren purchased a lot on the south side of Arch St.
1920
On August 15th the building was complete and dedicated. The costs were kept low due to the generosity of the members’ money, time, and talents.
1956
Construction of a new building at the 845 Arch St. site began in April. The members possessed the masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and electrician skills needed for the endeavor. The job was supervised by brothers Harold and Richard Williams. Thanks to everyone’s contributions the cost of construction was $60,000, but the building was appraised at $150,000.
1958
The first service at the new building was held on Wednesday, February 22.
1982
Eventually a classroom wing was added, and in February a dedication of the addition was held. Again, most of the work was completed by members who spent many hours at the building using their talents to save the church’s money.
